There is always at least zone 22 in the powder coating area. Powder deposits in dangerous quantities (layer thicknesses ≥ 1 mm) can lead to fire hazards and in the event of whirling up also to explosion hazards. In order to prevent these dangers, the cabins must be cleaned regularly and the deposits removed. It must be ensured that:

• The extraction units to be used are explosion-protected, at least for Zone 22
• The powder used does not fall below the minimum permissible ignition energy
• Highly efficient filter technology is used, ideally with automatic filter cleaning
